Here at Headphone.ph we love reviewing headphones and other audio equipments. How much do we actually love doing it? We love it that we are willing to pay for your headphone to get it reviewed here! Yes you heard that right but before anything else gets out of hand, there are going to be some guidelines that we need to lay out here first before we can begin. We built this website obviously because we love headphones and while we do have plenty of headphones amongst ourselves to review, we all know that they would easily dry up as time goes by. Fortunately for us, we’ve done some partnerships with companies like AKG, JBL, Sennheiser, Sony, etc. and that allowed us to generate a pool of products to review over the course of some time.
But of course we want to review more headphones. More!!!
With that in mind, we are starting this flexible informal partnership between us where you can send your headphone for review and we will pay a ‘loan fee’ for it and also shoulder shipment. How does that sound? Obviously there are intricacies to iron out here but the basic idea is if you’re interested in loaning your headphone and we are interested in reviewing it, then it’s a deal.
Now here are the basic guidelines to consider:
1. Agreement between two parties
The first obvious thing is that we need to agree so we can get started. We like budget headphones but we also like mid-tier to higher-end cans (or even weird ones) and with that said, we wanted to strike a balance between them. So if we feel that we like the offer, then we would agree on it. Otherwise, we would turn it down.
The agreement also expands on the price and the duration of the loan. How much we can pay and how long do we need it? We can’t simply put a formula here as there are plenty of uncontrolled variables to factor in. Instead, we would negotiate privately and see where it would go from there. 🙂
Once the agreement is reached, both parties will sign a consignment agreement for formality’s sake.
2. Form of payment
Now this is the tricky part but to make things simpler, we will be accepting two payment methods. One is through PayPal and the second one is through bank transfer. With PayPal, the sender must shoulder the PayPal fees.
What would happen then after the agreement is that, the sender will send the headphone first and then after it’s received, we do the loan fee transfer plus the shipment fee through either of the methods mentioned above. Now doing this is easier said than done especially if you haven’t met the person you’re sending you’re headphones to but we believe it’s doable.
Doing a meetup can also work here depending on the location and other circumstances.
3. Credits will be given where it’s due
This is a minor part here but the person who loans the headphone will be given credit in the review article itself. This means that you can specify a brief sentence or two about yourself and what you do and that will be included. It will even be much better if want to link to a personal site of yours (or social account) so you get free traffic! :p
That should be it! This is a bit experimental for us as we’ve never done something like this before. However, this will also help us fine-tune the agreement written here based on experience as we go along with the process. More importantly, this will get our site to review more headphones and audio equipment which is a win-win situation for all of us! 🙂
So how would you proceed now if you’re interested? You would contact us through our contact form and then we’ll start the conversation from there. It’s as easy as that! Now if you have any suggestions or feedback to make this headphone loaning partnership even better, then feel free to do it through the comments section below.
